This account has been left to collect dust for far too long, so I am not entirely sure why I am even bothering to update the journal, but I suppose someone out there may benefit from this... //coughcough //wishfulthinking
Without further ado, some news:
1) I secured a (paid!) photo internship at one of the top wedding photography studios in Toronto, and have been happily working gigs and gaining experience since.
2) I am part of a solid Art collective; we call ourselves PHC.
3) I am now a regular photo contributor for a Toronto-based music blog; I have shot and met many a distinguished musical act (of the alternative/independent persuasion; ie: Florence Welsh of Florence + The Machine; Erlend Oye of Kings of Convenience, etc...) and I am loving every single part of it.
4) Twitter is getting me a hell of a lot of exposure.
5) I have created a DA portfolio so potential clients can view my latest work: [link] Normally, I would not go through such trouble (the interface is icky), but it will be a while until my website gets updated again and I have been shooting non-stop since its launch last November.
I have many fond memories of Deviant Art, but alas, politics and such have really forced me to stay away for periods of time (plus, I really hate how this community operates now...) Of course, as there is no way to delete both of my existing accounts, I visit from time to time to check out the scene, for inspiration, I suppose. But DA just doesn't hold the same magic for me anymore... Hrm.
At any rate, until next time (which won't be for a while, I imagine...)
